South Coast NSW History Story
‘Result’, 1893
The 25-metre, 56-ton schooner ‘Result’, which had been built in New Zealand in 1882, was wrecked in stormy weather when she missed stays (failed to tack) at Abraham’s Bosom (just north-east of Currarong) on 30th September 1893. She was unladen and had been on a voyage from Sydney to St Georges Basin. ‘An attempt was made to stay the schooner, but it failed and she drove ashore. The crew were saved.’
